Does Your Credit Need Improvement? Unsecured Credit Cards |
|||
Have you had a hard time qualifying for other credit cards? If so, then this section is for you. The cards we have collected here do not have the best rates or fees.
Instead, they are designed to "jump-start" your credit after you have gone through some rough times.
Most people believe that obtaining a credit card will automatically improve your credit and this simply is not the fact.
The truth is that when most people with below average credit get a credit card they "max" it out almost immediately. This will hurt your credit almost more than any other thing else you can do. |

The trick to improving credit is to show restraint to other creditors. Meaning, if you have a $500 limit, keep your balance below $100, this will improve your credit up to 35% sometimes. This shows creditors that even though you have below average credit you are not in "need" of the new credit.
These credit cards are not designed to carry a balance on. You should pay your bill in full each month. The interest rates and annual fees are designed to discourage people from carrying a balance. Usually in about a year, after keeping your payments on time with this bill and other bills you may want try and qualify for another credit card with better terms.
There are a lot of factors that go into the decision to offer credit to people with below average credit. There is not a "magic pill" that you can take that will guarantee you that you will qualify for a better card though. However, keeping your balances low on your revolving debt, making your payments on time on all bills is a great start to improving your credit and qualifying for a better credit card. |
